I have worked with music for the better part of my life.
And what a joyful life!
I have searched and found half forgotten operas and light operas, and these have been performed at the Malmö Open Air Theatre for many years. More recently, they have been broadcasted by Radio Sweden.
The lesser known Old Vienna Music is close to my heart. I have found numerous rarities, including early dances by Joseph Lanner and Johann Strauss. These findings form the base for the orchestral music presented on these pages. |
The titles labelled "Arr. Valter Bornemark" are orchestrations from piano sheets. It has been my urge to create scores close to the Old Vienna Music style. Most of the dances have been broadcasted by Radio Sweden.
I assure you this is merry and spiritful music! The titles alone entice you to contemporary outings. How about titles like "Regatta Gallop", "Eisenbanh-Lust-Fahrt-Walzer" (Railroad Excursion Waltz), "Ballong-Gallop"? |
| I can provide you with scores. If you like I'll supply the parts as well. My own Radio and Viennese Orchestra was rather similar to the one Lanner used: 2 clarinets, 2 French horns, 2 trumpets, trombone, percussion and strings (18 players). There is always a piano part to accompany the
arrangements. The arrangments can also be successfully used with a 12-13 players strong group, also known as a chamber orchestra. |
